Amended 08:04 Cardiff Central to Swansea on Sunday 19 January
Engineering work is taking place between Bridgend and Baglan, closing some lines on Sunday morning.
As a result, the 08:04 Cardiff Central to Swansea service will be retimed to run approximately 20 minutes later than usual after Bridgend.

Buses replace trains in the Cardiff area on Sunday 19 January
Engineering work is taking place at various locations in the Cardiff Central area, closing many lines over the course of the weekend.
As a result:
- Trains will run between Caerphilly / Rhymney and Heath High Level. Replacement buses will connect at Caerphilly for passenger for Cardiff Central / Cardiff Queen Street
- Buses will replace trains between Cardiff Central and Penarth / Barry Island / Bridgend via Barry
- Trains that usually run between Cardiff Central and Treherbert / Aberdare / Merthyr Tydfil / Pontypridd will be amended to call at all stations from Radyr via Cathays. A shuttle bus will run between Cardiff Queen Street and Cardiff Central
- Trains to / from Aberdare via Fairwater will be diverted. For stations via Fairwater, you can use your ticket with Cardiff Bus

Buses replace late night trains between Crewe and Stockport / Manchester Piccadilly from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 January
Engineering work is taking place between Crewe and Sandbach, closing some lines late on Monday to Thursday evenings.
As a result:
- The 20:03 Cardiff Central to Manchester Piccadilly service will terminate at Crewe. A replacement bus will run from Crewe to Manchester Piccadilly.
- The 22:32 Manchester Piccadilly to Crewe service will not run. A replacement bus will run from Stockport at 21:58 to Crewe, running earlier in order to maintain connections at Crewe.

Amended late night trains in the Prestatyn / Rhyl area from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 January
Engineering work is taking place between Shotton and Rhyl, closing some lines on Wednesday evening.
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday:
As a result, the following trains will run later than usual after Shotton, extending journey times by up to 5 minutes:
- The 19:38 Cardiff Central to Holyhead service
- The 23:20 Manchester Airport to Holyhead service
Additionally, the 21:51 Llandudno to Crewe service will run 15 minutes later than usual from Flint onwards. The 23:26 Crewe to Shrewsbury service will be retimed to run later at 23:34 in order to maintain connections from the Llandudno to Crewe train.
Wednesday:
As a result, the following trains will run later than usual after Shotton, extending journey times by up to 15 minutes:
- The 19:38 Cardiff Central to Holyhead service
- The 23:20 Manchester Airport to Holyhead service

Buses replace trains between Newport and Gloucester / Bristol Parkway on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January
Engineering work is taking place all weekend between Newport / Severn Tunnel Junction and Caldicot, closing all lines including the Severn Tunnel.
CrossCountry
CrossCountry services will not run between Cardiff Central and Gloucester. A replacement bus service will run between Newport and Gloucester, provided by Transport for Wales.
Great Western Railway
Great Western Railway services will not run between Newport and Bristol Parkway A replacement bus service will run between Cardiff Central / Newport and Bristol Parkway.
A reduced service will run between Carmarthen / Swansea and Newport, and between Bristol Parkway and London Paddington. Trains between Cardiff Central and Taunton / Exter St Davids / Plymouth / Penzance will start from / terminate at Bristol Temple Meads.
Saturday only: If you are travelling to / from Pilning, a limited number of taxis will be provided between Pilning and Bristol Parkway.
Additionally, the following services are affected:
Saturday:
- The 07:04 Bristol Temple Meads to Swansea service will start from Newport.
Sunday:
- The 07:59 Exeter St Davids to Cardiff Central will divert to and terminate at Bristol Parkway.
- The 08:58 Bristol Parkway to Swansea service will start from Newport.
- The 14:13 London Paddington to Cardiff Central service will terminate at Swindon.
- The 17:40 Cardiff Central to Portsmouth Harbour service will start from Bristol Temple Meads.
Transport for Wales

Amended 23:18 Cardiff Central to Swansea service on Monday 27, Tuesday 28, and Thursday 30 January
Engineering work is taking place overnight between Briton Ferry and Swansea, closing some lines.
As a result, on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings the 23:18 Cardiff Central to Swansea service will terminate at Port Talbot Parkway. A replacement bus service will run from Port Talbot Parkway to Swansea / Carmarthen.
A fast bus service will run directly between Port Talbot Parkway and Swansea, and a slower bus service will call at all stations between Port Talbot Parkway and Carmarthen.

Engineering work is taking place between Chester / Warrington Bank Quay and Manchester Piccadilly, closing all lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.
Monday to Thursday:
The 21:09 Birmingham International Airport to Manchester Piccadilly service will terminate at Warrington Bank Quay. A replacement bus will run from Warrington Bank Quay to Manchester Piccadilly.
The 23:20 Manchester Airport to Holyhead will be replaced by a bus between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester. An additional train service will run from Chester at 00:40 to Holyhead, connecting from the replacement bus. If you are travelling from Manchester Airport or East Didsbury you should use other train services.
Tuesday to Friday:
The 00:26 Manchester Piccadilly to Chester service will be replaced by a bus throughout.
The 03:51 Chester to Manchester Airport service will be replaced by a bus between Chester and Manchester Piccadilly. For East Didsbury and Manchester Airport, you should use other operators services to complete your journeys.
The 04:55 Chester to Manchester Airport service will be retimed to depart at 05:00, and will terminate at Manchester Oxford Road. For Manchester Piccadilly, East Didsbury and Manchester Airport, you should use other services, changing at Manchester Oxford Road.
The 06:25 Manchester Airport to Llandudno service will start from Manchester Oxford Road. For Manchester Airport, East Didsbury and Manchester Piccadilly, you are advised to use other services to connect with this train.

Engineering work is taking place in the Cardiff Central area, closing various lines overnight from Monday evening until Friday morning.
Monday to Thursday:
The 22:36 Merthyr Tydfil to Cardiff Central and the 23:24 Pontypridd to Cardiff Central will terminate at Radyr. Replacement buses will run from Radyr to Cardiff Central via Llandaf, Cathays and Cardiff Queen Street.
The 22:49 Barry Island to Ystrad Mynach will terminate at Cardiff Central at 23:21, with a replacement bus running from Cardiff Central to Ystrad Mynach, calling at all stations.
The 22:51 Aberdare to Cardiff Central will terminate at Radyr. A replacement bus will run from Radyr to Cardiff Central via Danescourt, Fairwater, Waun-gron Park and Ninian Park.
The 23:30 Cardiff Central to Barry Island will be replaced with a bus throughout.
The 23:36 Penarth to Cardiff Central departs 2 minutes earlier at 23:34 and departs earlier from Dingle Road and Grangetown.
The 23:45 Cardiff Central to Pontypridd will depart Cardiff Central 1 minute earlier at 23:44.
The 23:54 Cardiff Bay to Cardiff Central will terminate at Cardiff Queen Street with no direct onward replacement transport to Cardiff Central. You should instead use earlier services, or the 00:21 replacement bus departure from Cardiff Queen Street towards Cardiff Central (connecting from the 23:50 Radyr to Cardiff Central train).
Tuesday to Friday:
The 05:25 Barry Island to Cardiff Central runs 2 minutes later than usual, at 05:27.

Northern:
Leeds - Chester:
Trains that normally run between Leeds and Chester will run between Leeds and Manchester Victoria only.
Rail replacement buses will operate between Manchester Victoria and Chester.
Manchester Airport / Wilmslow and Liverpool Lime Street:
Trains that normally run between Manchester Airport / Wilmslow and Liverpool Lime Street will run between Newton-le-Willows and Liverpool Lime Street only.
Rail replacement buses will run between Manchester Piccadilly and Newton-le-Willows.
Trains will still run between Manchester Airport / Wilmslow and Manchester Piccadilly.
Additional service amendments:
- The 09:12 Preston to Manchester Airport service will be diverted via Bolton. Alternative services are available between Preston and Leyland / Wigan
- The 21:13 Blackburn to Wigan Wallgate service will terminate at Manchester Victoria
- The 22:36 Manchester Victoria to Wigan Wallgate bus service will instead depart at 22:46, to provide journey options to Wigan via Atherton
TransPennine Express:
Buses will replace trains between Liverpool Lime Street and Manchester Victoria.
Transport for Wales:
Replacement buses will run between Warrington Bank Quay and Manchester Piccadilly.
For travel between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport, you should use alternative train services. Replacement buses will not call at Manchester Oxford Road, for this station you should use alternative services and travel via Manchester Piccadilly.
The last replacement bus from Warrington Bank Quay, at 23:20, will be extended to run to Manchester Airport.

The 21:09 Birmingham International to Manchester Piccadilly service will terminate at Chester for a replacement bus onward to Manchester Piccadilly.
The 21:52 Chester to Manchester Airport service will terminate at Warrington Bank Quay. A replacement bus will run from Warrington Bank Quay to Manchester Piccadilly. You should travel on alternative services between Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly.
The 22:01 Chester to Liverpool Lime Street service will be replaced by a bus between Chester and Liverpool South Parkway. You should use alternative services between Liverpool South Parkway and Liverpool Lime Street.
The 22:25 Manchester Airport to Chester service will be replaced by a bus between Manchester Piccadilly and Chester. You should travel on alternative services between Manchester Airport and Manchester Piccadilly.

Major engineering work is taking place at Cardiff Queen Steet, closing all lines.
No trains will run to / from / via Cardiff Queen Street. The ticket office will remain open at the station.
Replacement buses will run between:
- Cardiff Central and Radyr via Cardiff Queen Street / Cathays / Llandaf
- Cardiff Central and Penarth (Friday and Saturday only, trains run as normal on Sunday)
- Cardiff Central and Cardiff Bay via Cardiff Queen Street (late night / early morning only)
- Radyr and Cardiff Bay (Sunday only)
- Cardiff Central and Caerphilly, Ystrad Mynach, Bargoed and Rhymney
Trains to / from Treherbert / Aberdare / Merthyr Tydfil will be retimed at Cardiff Central, and will be diverted to not call at Cardiff Queen Street, Cathays or Llandaf.
A reduced and amended service will run between Cardiff Central and Pontypridd.
