Ystrad Mynach to Cardiff Central

Cardiff is a great place for a day out, with numerous attractions and things to do throughout the city, and a great place to start is the dramatic and imposing Cardiff Castle. Standing watch over the heart of the city for centuries, explore from the deepest dungeon to the highest turret. Don’t forget to take photos as you go, and with a steady hand and skilled eye, you may even capture the ghosts that haunt this ancient site.

Adrenaline junkies are also fully catered for with exhilarating activities, including the Cardiff International White Water, but there’s also the excitement of catching a game at the impressive Principality Stadium situated near Cardiff Bay. The Bay area is also home to the Barrage - an interesting new development, offering stunning views over the city. 

If high street labels are your thing, the Queen’s Arcade or St David’s shopping centre should be your next port of call, but if you prefer something more unusual, Dominions Arcade is one of many Victorian markets packed with quaint boutiques selling handcrafted artisan pieces. 
 
For a fully interactive adventure, head over to the Techniquest science centre, or for something more cultured visit the National Museum Cardiff. With a packed programme of events, exhibitions and workshops, there’s always something going on. Another must-see is the iconic Millennium Centre. Home to performance art such as musicals, stand up comedy, or live music, Cardiff is quite rightly proud of its cultural presence on the international stage.
